Personal Care & Daily Living Support
We help with bathing, dressing, grooming, meals, and mobility, ensuring your loved one maintains comfort, dignity, and independence while feeling safe at home every day.
Caregiving Zen provides compassionate in-home care across Markham, offering personal support, companionship, dementia care, respite, and post-hospital assistance helping families nurture comfort, independence, and peace of mind every day.
Markham has about 62,055 residents over 65 — 18.3% of the city, the largest number of any municipality we serve. We are based in Aurora, roughly half an hour north, and we support several Markham families.
One fact shapes home care in Markham more than any other: 56.1% of Markham residents over 65 speak a language other than English or French most often at home. Cantonese is the most common mother tongue among Markham seniors — more of them than English. If the person you are arranging care for is most comfortable in Cantonese, Mandarin, Tamil, Italian or Persian, tell us when you call.

Markham is a collection of distinct communities and each one asks something different of a care plan. We work in Unionville, Markham Village, Cornell, Berczy, Wismer, Greensborough, Cathedraltown, Angus Glen, Milliken Mills, German Mills, Box Grove and out into rural Markham and Victoria Square.
The southwest of the city is also part of Thornhill, which straddles the Markham and Vaughan boundary along Yonge Street. If that is where you are, our Thornhill page covers it directly.
The Markham Seniors Activity Centre on Water Street has held Ontario Seniors Active Living Centre designation for over fifteen years, and the city partners with five volunteer-run seniors' clubs across its community centres. Where someone still goes, getting them there is part of the plan.

We help with bathing, dressing, grooming, meals, and mobility, ensuring your loved one maintains comfort, dignity, and independence while feeling safe at home every day.

Our caregivers bring warmth and connection through conversation, hobbies, and activities, helping residents stay emotionally strong, socially active, and joyfully engaged in their daily lives.

We provide expert support for families facing memory-related challenges, managing confusion and anxiety with patience, structured routines, and activities that promote comfort.

Take a well-deserved break knowing your loved one is cared for by professionals who offer dependable, short-term support with compassion and understanding whenever you need relief.

Our caregivers ensure smooth recovery after hospital discharge, managing medications, meals, mobility, and follow-ups so your loved one can heal safely and comfortably at home.
We start with a free in-home assessment to understand needs, preferences, and routines, then create a personalized care plan tailored to your family’s situation.
We carefully select a caregiver based on personality, skills, and compatibility to ensure your loved one feels comfortable and supported throughout their care journey.
We continuously review care plans, communicate with families, and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality, consistency, and satisfaction for every client we serve.
Most Markham residents are discharged from Markham Stouffville Hospital on Church Street, part of Oak Valley Health.
Discharge is where care plans come apart. The hospital is ready before the house is, and the person coming home is often less steady than the family expected. We can have a caregiver there for the first night and stay through the weeks that follow.
Markham has a good spread of long-term care and retirement options — AgeCare Woodhaven, Markhaven, Yee Hong on Bur Oak Avenue, Bethany Lodge and Union Villa in Unionville, Mon Sheong on Apple Creek Boulevard. Most families who call us are trying to postpone that step rather than take it, which is usually possible for longer than people assume. Publicly funded home care here is arranged through Ontario Health atHome's Central area.

Our caregivers receive continuous training in senior support, dementia care, and safety practices, ensuring your loved one receives consistent, professional assistance every single day.
We design care around your loved one’s lifestyle, health needs, and preferences, giving every family truly personalized support that evolves as circumstances change.
We keep families informed with regular updates, ensuring open communication, transparency, and peace of mind for every client we serve.
We’re proud to serve communities with care that’s grounded in empathy, respect, and a deep understanding of local families’ needs and values.
